Type and Image project

“Produce a publication in the form of a folded printed matter, from the equivalent of one sheet of A2 paper. The content will be a narrative.”

My narrative was the children’s nursery rhyme The Queen of Hearts, however I didn’t follow the conventional route, as you can see:

Above: Front Cover

The Queen of Hearts, she made some tarts, all on a summer’s day.

The Queen is a Madam in a brothel, looking after her Tarts.

The Knave of Hearts he stole those tarts and took them clean away.

The good-hearted Knave tries to rescue the Tarts.

The King of Hearts called for the tarts and beat the Knave full sore.

The King (the pimp who owns the brothel) catches the Knave and punishes him.

The Knave of Hearts brought back the tarts and vowed he’d steal no more.

The Knave ends up in the morgue.

The book is printed in two colours, with the red heart device incorporated on each page.
